Writing test 1

Since the beginning of time, athletes from all over the world proved that if they went on a diet and did plenty of exercise for high level competition, their perfomance would be absolutely brilliant without the necessity of anything else. However, the development of science has changed the initial spirit. That's why nowadays taking drugs is seen as something normal when the truth is that society shouldn't accept and promote this.

Years ago, this situation was totally out of the map. First of all, athletes used to take care of their health and make a real effort for winning. Second of all, taking part was already an honor, so they didn't worry about anything but being part of the game.

This is why watching the Olympics is not exciting anymore, because most athletes lost the initial spirit, druging themselves and making their entire life a competition. However, they must remember that everything in life needs effort proving what they can do with their own merits.

All in all, we can't accept this as society, if we do, sports won't be as they used to anymore.

Dear sir/ madam,

I am writing because I'm quite interestd in your holiday company for going to the African Safari with my family, but I still have some questions about what your company offers.

Firstly, I would like to know more about prices, because I would travel with my parents and my two-year-old niece, so I was wondering whether there was a special offer for those going with their families.

Secondly, I read some information about acommodation, but I would like to know where exactly the place is and also if I can reserve two different rooms for the same price each, because I need a single and a double room as long as I can afford it.

Thirdly,  I would be very grateful if you could send me an email back to this email account paula_orellana7@hotmail.es attaching the certificate that you mentioned in the advertisement that proves the health and accident security for children because I want to make sure if it's completely safe for my niece.

Finally, your advertisement mentions the fact that we have to use special clothes. We have no problem with taking our own clothes except if the company could provide them to us. Would you mind telling me if all the equipment is provided?

I would be very grateful if you could answer my letter, because I'm very excited about this trip.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Yours faithfully,

Paula Orellana

Description of an event.

              My little niece birth

I’ve never imagined how was loving a little person that much. My little niece, Monserrat, was born in April 13th, 2011 in San Antonio and since then I felt an incredible connection with her. At that moment, I didn’t know anything about babies and children. The only thing that I remembered was my childhood, but not that well.
The day she was born, everybody was extremely excited. My sister and my brother in law were totally on the edge, but happy at the same time, waiting for the prettier baby that I’ve ever seen. Finally, she came to the world around 7 PM and we could see her through the window.
When I first looked at her, I felt everything was going to change, but for good. She seemed so fragile that I was extremely afraid of holding her the first days. As time goes by, I got so used to seeing her that every time that I’m away from home I feel so alone without her.
All in all, that was definitely the best event ever, because it really gave sense to my life. Being a good aunt has been a great challenge for me and I hope been doing a good job.
